Spatial Object Managers 2.0
Publish CAD files and raster data into
Smallworld with no translation!
Spatial Object Managers (SOM's) allow users to directly publish
files into Smallworld. SOMS make integrating CAD data and
large raster files quick and easy, allowing users to integrate
data that has been sitting in isolated departments into an
enterprise GIS.
Smallworld Spatial Object Managers 2.0 will be available
in February 2000. This version of Smallworld SOMs supports:
Users
can easily access data via a corporate intranet by publishing
files into a SmallworldWeb server. The files can then be queried
and viewed from a standard browser. In addition, users can:
- Create
styles using the Smallworld style system for different objects,
regardless of the storage format. This feature gives the
user flexibility in how data is presented.
-
Perform queries using the standard Smallworld Object Browser
and analyze the new data in conjunction with any data in
the GIS or accessed through other Smallworld SOM's.
-
Define drawing visibilities to only display objects at the
appropriate scales maximizing performance.
-
Project files on-the-fly into the system, allowing formats
from different sources to be easily combined into one map
base.
-
Associate files with objects and viewed them with no translation.
Uses include storing and viewing compatible units.
-
Easily check data conversion. View the original files underneath
the captured data to look for discrepancies.
-
Access SOM's data from any Smallworld application.
