GE Smallworld 2001 Discussion Tracks
Utilities and Public Systems. This track is targeted to management staff responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining GE Smallworld technology within their organizations. Attendees will learn from industry peers successful strategies for system implementation, maintenance, and program management. Discussion tracks will cover a variety of topics from system development to deployment.
Operations Management. This track focuses on solutions for managing network operations and improving network reliability. We will explore distribution and operation management solutions integrated with GE Smallworld. Customers and partners will share experiences in implementing PowerOn and other distribution and operation management solutions. Track discussions will include client success stories, implementation topics, and GE Smallworld product development plans.
Engineering and Design. This track will explore solutions for engineering, design, and work management. Customers and partners will share experiences in implementing integrated solutions for design automation, engineering analysis, and mobile computing. Track discussions will include success stories, implementation topics, and GE Smallworld product development updates.
Educational Workshops. New at this year's show, these educational workshops are targeted to developers, users, administrators, and implementors. Attendees will gain hands-on experience in working with GE Smallworld technology during these interactive sessions. GE Smallworld experts will lead these interactive workshops, which will address a variety of implementation and user topics for GE Smallworld Core Spatial Technology and applications. Space is limited in these hands-on training sessions, so please register early to ensure availability.
Usability Workshops. Help shape the future direction of GE Smallworld Internet Application Server products during these usability workshops. Attendees will gain hands-on experience in using one or more Internet applications including, a prototype of our new Java-based Internet Application Framework; a sample HTML Client; and two PowerOn applications. The usability workshops will allow you to view our emerging products and give us your opinions and feedback regarding various aspects of Internet application usability. The usability workshops will take place Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. We can accommodate up to 12 participants for each workshop. Attendance will be handled on a first come, first served basis and may be limited based on the applicability of job function to the specific applications involved in the workshops.
Communications. This track is targeted to communications companies using GE Smallworld Network Inventory Suite of products. Updates on the latest versions of Physical Network Inventory, Logical Network Inventory, Network Inventory Server, and Network Inventory Gateway will be presented. A preview of Network Inventory Analyst-the Communications business intelligence application based on GE Smallworld Spatial Intelligence-will also be presented. Track discussions will include product development plans as well as client/partner presentations on their success and experience in implementing these products in their environments.
Utility Executive Advisory Workshop: This special event is reserved for GE Smallworld customer CIOs and Operations executives. GE Smallworld will host an interactive workshop, "Impacting the Bottom Line," which includes a discussion of strategies and methods for reducing operations and management costs, increasing customer satisfaction, increasing asset and personnel use, and achieving on-time, on-budget commercial operation dates. The discussion will highlight critical-to-quality and customer investment areas. Executives attending the event are invited to join us for golf on Sunday, followed by a dinner with industry peers. Monday's events include general session topics in addition to the interactive workshop session. Attendance at the event is by invitation only.
