Introduction
GE Smallworld Core Spatial Technology, in common with all complex and comprehensive applications, requires regular maintenance if it is to provide the performance which will be expected from it.
The model, which it supports, is bound to change over time with additional requirements, differing business cases to be addressed, and improved understanding from users. This naturally imposes a need to change the system similarly.
The way the system is used is bound to change over time as well. Initially there is likely to be a major data collection task. This will be succeeded by few expert users making complex enquiries, and eventually by many users making a range of enquiries, together with routine data maintenance. It is necessary to modify the system to accommodate these changing requirements.
This course establishes the skills necessary to perform all the routine support and maintenance that will enable the system to provide a secure and effective service to users.
